Ruth Toms ( Mother of Maggie Strous ) 02/12/2010 Please keep my best friend Maggie Strous and her family in prayer. She has had a very tough year with the passing of her beloved husband Pappy of 15 years in May. Her birthday was on 2/10 and Pappy's was on 2/17. We were going to take her up to Salamanca New York to visit Danny's mom and to get her away from the area and her mind on other things this weekend. Maggie's mom fell on Wednesday during the snow storm and they were unable to get her to a doctor until Thursday. It appears she broke her hip and thigh bone. She will need to have a complete hip replacement. Because she has a pacemaker, they have to wait and do the surgery after running tests to see if she is stable enough to endure the anesthesia. The last I heard they may do the surgery on Friday early evening or Saturday morning. She is in Waynesboro PA Hospital. Her name is Mrs. Ruth Toms. Thank you for your prayers. The doctor said she was a very sick woman and had a bad heart. They also said the cancer is back (I am not sure what kind). Lots of prayer is still needed. She was put on a respirator by Saturday morning and a breathing tube by Saturday evening. This is a very trying time for all of Maggie's siblings. Please keep all of them surrounded in prayer.
